[TRANS] ‘The End of Nightmare’ description

Never ending ‘nightmare’ drawn by Dreamcatcher, fantasy ‘da capo’¹
Fourth mini album [The End of Nightmare]

The seven nightmares’ story that bewitched the world is coming to an end through Dreamcatchers’ new work [The End of Nightmare].

Dreamcatchers’ ‘Nightmare’ began on the 13th of January, 2017. Their unfolding nightmare has gradually evolved. And going from Prequel to a change to modern times, they captivated the world. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Dreamcatcher successfully wrapped up two world tours outside of Korea due to their very own ‘nightmare’ concept.

In their first piece [Nightmare], Dreamcatcher met us with their individual nightmares. ‘Being chased by someone: Jiu’, ‘Feeling like being watched by someone: Handong’, ‘Being locked up in a narrow space: Siyeon’, ‘Falling from a high place: Gahyeon’, ‘Not being able to move the entire body: Sua’, ‘Being lost in an unfamiliar place: Yoohyeon’, ‘Getting injured: Dami’, they are all nightmares we commonly get in our daily life. This was Dreamcatchers’ mischievous trick.

They followed up that story with [Nightmare·Fall asleep in the mirror]. Dreamcatchers’ mischievous tricks awaken the brutality of a nightmare hunter, and a hunt for the seven nightmares unfolds. Escape with an invitation by the nightmare hunter, captured nightmares, the desparate chase to save them from there, they add the twist to the twist and tie your heart up from start to finish.

In this next nightmares’ story existed a mystery that had not been resolved yet. ‘How did the girls become nightmares?’ They answered that question in their first mini album [Prequel], and in that process exactly met the taste of InSomnia all around the world.

Also, a new ‘nightmare’ unfolded. Dreamcatchers’ nightmare didn’t remain in only one epoch. In [Nightmare·Escape the ERA], they continued the unique nightmare fantasy story while at the same time wrapping up the Antique epoch they had portrayed in the meantime.

Fascinating stories, in which the obscure boundary between reality and dream, inside and outside are one, but seem like two, built Dreamcatchers’ own true identity.

And in the following [album] [Alone In The City], Dreamcatcher expanded the story by establishing modern peoples’ stress as a reason for nightmares. It showed the anxious youth of the real world, the illusion of everything that torments one being recreated in a nightmare, and the conflict between the ‘seven nightmares’, making Dreamcatchers’ own story even more fascinating.

Dreamcatchers’ narrative, that continued without rest like that, will finally reach a conclusion with [The End of Nightmare]. Like the title [The End of Nightmare] suggests, it is a work that concludes the ‘nightmare’ story that Dreamcatcher have laid out so far.

As expected, the conclusion that Dreamcatcher present is quite different from what you would imagine. You will be caught up in the endless repetition of the nightmares, like the ‘unexpected twist’ of nightmares presented previously, contrasting with the original symbol of “Dreamcatcher” – driving away the nightmare.

In other words, [The End of Nightmare] contains the end of the ‘nightmare’ Dreamcatcher presented, but at the same time also a new beginning, ‘fantasy da capo¹’.

But where does Dreamcatcher guide ‘nightmare’s Fine¹’? With Dreamcatchers ‘PIRI’, you are invited in an endless nightmare.

¹ T/N: ‘Da Capo’ is a musical term that means ‘From the beginning’ and is normally followed by term ‘Fine’ which means ‘end’.
